World-renowned big shots of bio-industry to gather in Guangzhou this July

The Convention will welcome over 10 world-renowned academicians from at home and abroad, over 100 internationally famous experts and entrepreneurs from bio-industry, and hundreds of representatives, partners and investors from national biological industry bases, biological associations, university scientific research institutions, renowned biotech companies, medical institutions, and venture capital enterprises.

Some of the big names include: Prof. Zhong Nanshan, Director of State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Disease, leader of the medical team fighting against Severe Acute Respiratory Syndromes (SARS) ; Prof. Charles Cantor, member of US National Academy of Sciences, Director of the Center for Advanced Biotechnology at Boston University, and American molecular geneticist who, in conjunction with David Schwartz, developed pulse field gel electrophoresis for very large DNA molecules.

The Convention will be themed on promoting new development of bio-industry and cultivating new kinetic energy for biological economy.

There will be a summit forum about the consistency evaluation of new medicine and generic drug, 2017 China biomass industry development summit forum, regenerative medicine and health industry summit forum, precision medicine and companion diagnostics forum, and so on.

The first Guangzhou International Biology Forum will also be carried out at the Guangzhou International Bio Island during the Convention, so will the quarter-final of the 6th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (biological medicine industry).

Apart from the forums, there will also be an exhibition showcasing biological medicine, medical apparatus and instruments, stem cells, Belt and Road bio-industry cooperation, interactive experience of the popularization of science, etc.
