十年，3650个日日夜夜；
十年，两个奥运周期的轮回辗转；
十年，新华社体育摄影记者的足迹遍及五大洲；
十年，我们贡献了近百万张的体育图片。
新华社摄影部在2000年8月对体育摄影报道进行了重要改革——组建了一支从事体育新闻专项报道的采编队伍，正式走上规模化、专业化发展道路。至今已走过十年的风雨历程。十年间，新华社的体育摄影由弱转强、展翅腾飞，已成为世界体育新闻摄影舞台一支不可小视的力量。在北京奥运会上，这支队伍担负起奥林匹克国家摄影队的重任，以领先世界的速度和无与伦比的精美瞬间，为奥运会留下永恒的珍贵记忆。为此，从军社长、何平总编辑都给予了充分肯定。从军同志说，奥运会报道，体现了新华社作为北京奥运会东道主通讯社和国家摄影队的雄厚实力，展现了新华社记者的摄影水平，其作品是新闻纪录与艺术的完美结合。何平同志指出，要按照从军同志提出的要求，以职业化的一流的标准和追求，朝着新的目标继续不断超越，为超越前人、超越对手、超越自我而努力奋斗。
十年的历程，十年的艰辛，是新华社体育摄影进行专业化探索发展的真实写照，具有里程碑的意义。因此，在新华社体育摄影改革十周年之际，摄影部推出了体育摄影十年精品展，总结过去，希冀未来。
本次精品展共精选十年间体育优秀作品80幅，内容涉及奥运会、亚运会、各单项赛事以及民族体育等，记录了国内外体坛的风云变幻，更展现了新华社记者在体育摄影上的探索与追求。
Ten years, 3650 days and nights, two Olympic Games, Xinhua’s sports photographers have traveled five continents and sent back millions of sports pictures.
In August 2000, Xinhua News Agency made a profound step in developing sports photo report by opening an office mainly focusing on covering sports event domestic and worldwide. Ten years later, the world witnesses a professional sports photographers team built up by this office, whose power and potential cannot be neglected. In
2010 is the 10th anniversary of the profound reform in sports photo report. The 10-year retrospective exhibition offers us a good opportunity to look into the past and set our feet on a brand new starting line.
The exhibition of 80 images highlight sports stars, big events, and historical moments of the past 10 years. It opens us a window to look back at the history of Xinhua’s sports photo report and shows the explorations and persuit of Xinhua’s photographers in sports photography.
